When you sign into Merit for the first time, you'll be prompted to begin filling in important information using Facebook or LinkedIn, such as your bio, photo, and work experience. These fields can also be changed after you import information. It is best for you to link these accounts at this point in the process, but can be done at any time. You will also have the opportunity to create a custom URL for your Merit Page, which can be edited at a later time.

If you chose not to import your information from Facebook or LinkedIn at this step, you can always do so with the social media tab.

Here, you can connect your account to Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn. Each of the auto-posting settings can be manipulated in the privacy tab.

You can connect (or disconnect) from:

Facebook
Twitter
LinkedIn

Facebook

If you choose to connect with Facebook, you will be prompted to allow certain permissions to Merit. These requests allow Merit to use your listed biography, profile photo, job experience, and listed high school to populate fields on your Merit Page, as well as allowing Facebook to auto-post achievements to your Facebook Profile. To allow these permissions, select Okay at each prompt.

Auto-posting from Facebook can be manipulated at any time without disconnecting Merit from Facebook.

After connecting to Facebook, your work experience, profile photo, and other fields will be automatically populated and the most recent achievement on your Merit account will be shared.
